Oh my, that was kind of hilarious.

I was so excited about nanowrimo this year, even managed to start on time, not like last year (5 days late), but now I see that my beginning sucks and I'm stuck and I neither have time nor the enthusiasm to keep going at a pace that allows me to finish or even come close to the 50 grands this year. Shoulda thought this through huh? Classes are just too stressful this year. Okay it's the third semester, I guess I should have calculated that in when signing up again. Damn.

and I'm not counting the cups of Starbucks coffee here, or the pizzas. Okay, gotta go and talk some sense into the financial aid guy (who cut back my aid - sucks)

I have an organ donor card, I regularly give blood and I'm a registered bone marrow donor. Lately I've gotten involved in discussions about donors quite often. Why? Because people can't understand. As a full-time student I can't afford to give money to charities, at least not regularly. There have been cases, which were really important to me personally when I gave money to organizations, like alzheimer's organisation for example. But blood and bone marrow, and when I'm dead my organs, that's something I can give freely. I have enough to give. It doesn't hurt and I won't have to die of hunger or freeze to death because I can't pay my rent. I, personally, don't understand how a healthy person, without fear of needles, wouldn't be willing to give blood. It's normal for me, I don't even have to think about it. I can give, so I do.

Sometimes I ask people why they don't give blood and more often than not I get the same answers: Why should I? I don't have time. I can't see blood. (Well, you don't actually have to look, huh?)

I just don't get it.

Well, anyway, to get to the point. When you receive blood, it's by an anonymous donor right? Shame when I saw this:

Although this didn't surprise me, I was so delighted to see it. It's nice to see a celeb, who, despite using popularity for a cause (which of course is quite reasonable), go back to the roots of being a donor.

I have never been so hurt that I needed blood or an organ, and I never needed a bone marrow transplant (fingers crossed at all that), and yet I think that if I ever did, it would be nice to actually be able to say thank you. But yes, I do know that it makes so much more sense to have anonymous donors.

Anyway, this reminds me that the required time between blood donations is up and I can go and meet some nice people again. ;)

Okay, I got my Janeway playmate and a Voyager model today PLUS I had a late breakfast. After drinking Sprite, which shot my mind through the roof and I'm kind of all over the place. So, I got in the mood for a tidbit of sillyness, really.

yes, so there's that 5 questions meme, I saw over at madzilla's. And since I'm always kinda bored and love memes:

1. Coffee or Janeway? Choose.
That's an easy one, since Janeway practically comes with coffee. But yea, as madzilla said, she's definitely be better at waking me up. I can live on tea if I get Janeway in exchange.

2. On ething your family has taught you?
Forgive mistakes if they've been done woth your best interest at heart. I've had many people betray or disappoint me, even my family, but with my family I could always be sure that whatever they did, was because they wanted me to be happy. My mom once betrayed me really bad and a very good friend said Once disappointed you know who not to trust again. But actually, I find it harder to trust that friend today, than my mom. She'd never do anything to willingly hurt me, and I know I always come first for her. That's something I haven't experienced with anyone else before. She's taught me to put the people first you love dearly. And not forget yourself, because that's the point where she's set a bad example. ;)

3. Any era you would rather have lived in?
Actually, no. I wouldn't wanna miss all this comfort and technology. Future? Yes, definitely. But in the past? Never.

4. Do you like to argue?
Gosh, I'm a harmony addict. I hate arguing, but I like to win. I'm  a badass when it comes to arguing. But I don't like it.

5. What would you do with your life if money wasn't an issue?
Standard, I guess. Travel to all the places, I always wanted to see and haven't yet. Live in a loft in London or New York, preferrably. Take my time with my studies and study only what I love, and not what I can later work with. Settle down and commit more time and energy to my writing. I'd be more generous with my friends and my family. Sometimes I wish I could always give them what they wanna have, just to show them my love. That's dumb, I know. There's so many things I want to do so badly. I want my book to get published. Without money issues, I could do that all by myself. Without depending on anyone else.

So, I've just been going through Voyager eps, and stumbled across "Memorial" and "Collective", which follow upon each other almost immediately (just one ep in between), and it occurs to me that the girls liked to get the boys out of the way.

Anyway, back to my actual duty for today and then next coupld of days, my take-home exam. Argh, drives me crazy.

I really did try to create my own Kate, but what the...looks not at all like her...but pretty anyway, I think I'll use her nonetheless until a better Kate-Sim comes along.....

So my room mate just called and asked me to order pizza...yay....so much for saving money, but I think she's gonna pay anyway.
My notebook makes strange noises. I think Sims3 wore it out....haha
No seriously, gotta order that pizza, she'll be here soon from her long work day.

So, today is my day off, which means, since I just bought The Sims3 yesterday, that I have all day to get used to the new functions and everything. I managed to build my own house exactly the way I want it to be. Only flaw it that you can't change the colour or fences and stairs. They should fix that.
So now, I need a Chak and a Janeway to play with. My sims designing skills seem to be below zero, couldn't even get one that looks like me.
I've been a sucker for Sims 2, never had even one of the add-ons. So this is all new for me and I'm enjoying it immensely.

Well, I don't like the new guys. That Dr. Hunt? I seriously don't like him. And that "Die", what's her face again?, you know Mer's new old best friend from medical school whatsoever? Yea, she pisses me off.

But that Dr. Dixon with her Aspergers, I think she rocks. ( spoiler )

So, I just love Mary's new role. I hardly knew her before, just from reading a couple of things here on LJ. But I've been looking forward to seeing her on GA and yea, definitely good. She's good. So now, who's missing on GA? lol, don't laugh at me. Kate of course. I could see her being the new Addison, not Addison Addison but, you know, position in the hospital Addison. Or better yet, the new Shepherd, but that would mean kicking Derek out. Definitely not a good thing. Didn't the chief wanna retire in  season what was it? 3? So, just let Kate take over the position as chief of surgery and kick a few asses. Yea, that would rock.

Did I ever tell you that Susan Grey, you know Mer's stepmom, really, really resembled Kate in my opinion? Dunno, couldn't shake the feeling that they really had something lookish in common. You know that "Treshold" Voyager episode, at the end, Janeway all in that blue sickbay gown? Yea, she did look a lot like Mare then. Or Mare like her. You know Susan, Mare, Janeway, Kate, what-ev-er....I'm rambling.

I'm sick at home and have to go out later, because there's this class that I can't miss and it sucks, because I'm really not feeling okay and I'd rather take the week off altogether, with my great grandma's funeral being this saturday and me already being a wreck. I think it's just stress related. But anyway. I'm getting quite bored but don't feel like going out or seeing anyone. So I'm watching GA. Had a re-run for myself and now I'm watching ahead. The 5th season just started here about 2 weeks ago. Or has it already been 3? Anyway, it's going slow and I'm bored and I'm procrastinating my studies, which I really, really schould be doing. But I just can't concentrate, so my notebook and my TV and keeping me company. Because my phone sucks and so do my friends right now. I kinda feel like going home to mommy. How about that? lol

So, I've just seen the first Grey's Anatomy eopisode with Mary. Gosh, I love it. She's great. Episode was so, so much fun. Yea, well, back to watching and getting a bit of sleep here.
